The BITS is also known as Birla Institute of Technology and Science having campuses at Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad and Dubai. BITSAT exam is conducted by BITS for the admissions in various graduation and Post graduation courses like B.E, B.Pharm and M.Sc respectively. BITS have announced the official dates for BITSAT exam 2016 to be conducted from May 14 to May 28 in various centres across the country. The competition is very tough in BITSAT exam this year because as many as 2 lakh candidates will appear for the examination for merely 2200 seats all over its campuses. BITS is one of the leading institutes in the country for providing quality education in engineering courses. Educational Qualification for BITSAT exam 2016
As all of you know that BITS conduct this exam every year for various engineering courses. Therefore the student should be passed from recognised board or university in higher secondary school (10+2). The student should also have physics, chemistry and Maths subjects in their high school and also proficiency in English language apart from these subjects.
But for admissions in B.Pharmacy courses in BITS, student should have passed class 12th examinations from recognised board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as their subjects. Proficiency in English language is also required for appearing in BITSAT exam 2016. Students with PCM as their subjects can also appear for B.pharmacy courses.
For appearing in this exam students should pass their class 12th examination with minimum of 75% marks in physics, chemistry and Mathematics/Biology. Also students should secure 60% marks each in all the three subjects’ separately.
Students who are appearing or who have passed 12th class examination can appear for this BITSAT exam 2016.
Pattern for BITSAT exam 2016
The students should be well aware of the pattern of BITSAT 2016 before going to appear for the exam on 28th May, 2016. The pattern of this exam is explained in detail below.
This exam will comprise of 4 sections: physics, chemistry, English proficiency and logical reasoning and Mathematics/Biology. The duration of the exam will be of 3 hours without any break. Physics and Chemistry will consist of 40 questions each, English and logical reasoning will have 15 and 10 questions respectively and 45 questions will be there for Mathematics/Biology section making the total count of 150 questions.
The exam will be comprised of 150 questions in total with every question being multiple choice having 4 options. The student will be awarded 3 marks for every right answer and penalty of 1 mark for every wrong answer. Therefore student should attempt every question carefully and try to score maximum without many wrong attempts. No marks will be awarded for the questions that will not be attempted.
Syllabus for BITSAT exam 2016
This exam will be conducted on the basis of course covered in NCERT books from class 11th and 12th. Therefore students should thoroughly revise their class 11th and 12th NCERT books for scoring good marks in this exam.
